Moriz Benedikt

Moriz Benedikt (sometimes spelled Moritz) (27 May 1849 – 18 March 1920), a Viennese Jew born in Krasice, was a long-time editor of Neue Freie Presse and a powerful figure in Austrian politics and society.
He was subeditor from 1872 to 1880, then associate editor and editor-in-chief from 1908 to the day he died.〔http://mt.ccnmtl.columbia.edu/schenker/profile/person/benedikt_moriz.html〕
The satirist Karl Kraus was a persistent critic of Benedikt and his (and his paper's) consistent pro-Jewish stance.〔Reitter, Paul ''The anti-journalist: Karl Kraus and Jewish self-fashioning in fin-de-siècle Europe'' University of Chicago Press ISBN 978-0-226-70970-3 pp.86–88〕
He died in Vienna.
